Stowe is a town in northern Vermont. It’s overlooked by Mount Mansfield, known for its trails and ski slopes. The Auto Toll Road climbs to the summit ridge. Near the base, Smugglers’ Notch State Park has dense forest and a narrow mountain pass. The Stowe Recreation Path follows the West Branch of the Little River through town, with mountain views. Woodstock is a town in Vermont. Historic buildings surrounding the central square, known as the Green, include the 1880s pink sandstone Norman Williams Public Library. Just north, Billings Farm & Museum is a functioning dairy farm, with an 1890 farmhouse and exhibits re-creating 19th-century farm life. Trails lace Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, which contains an 1800s Queen Anne–style mansion. ― Google

Montpelier is the capital city of Vermont. The 1859 Vermont State House is a gold-domed Greek Revival building with decorative and fine art collections. A multimedia exhibit and mural depict the state’s history at the adjacent Vermont History Museum. Nearby, sprawling, wooded Hubbard Park has meadows, a birch grove and a stone observation tower.
