Understanding Ratings & Reviews

 Regardless of what you may have heard, the short-term rental business is driven by ratings. Everything else should support the goal of maximizing ratings and reviews.

Many hosts view earning and maintaining a five-star rating as largely outside their control. This belief often stems from limited hospitality experience or a lack of basic customer service training.

That said, even the best process is not foolproof. The guest factor must always be considered, for example, a guest who books a valley property in December, despite it being advertised as eight miles from a ski resort and then complains about the snow.
